Doing Things the Pt. England Way ( with a Greenville Style)

Hello everyone!

I was thinking I'd take today to talk about a very important part of my week:

(and no, not like the ones in football).

I start each day of my week by writing down five new goals. This helps me focus on what's important and helps me figure out where I'm going.

As well as these everyday goals, I also want to set longer goals to improve my life. Have you heard of new years resolutions? Well, I usually make those and fail to do them sometime after the second week of January. So, I try to set long term goals every month that aren't so focused on things that I know I'll be unable to do. To illustrate this month's goals, I thought I could do it the Pt. England way! By having three goals that focus on bettering myself, the people around me, and my community!

For Me: Yoga

Yoga is this exercise that helps to calm you down and make you more coordinated. I've always wanted to do yoga and I think If I am able to do it, I'll be able to be more peaceful and more happy. Yoga is also supposed to help you understand yourself better which would be wonderful for me to help others understand!

For Others:Time

I tend to like to spend time on my own as I am a bit shy. But because I have so many amazing friends in my life that I don't get to talk to, I've decided that my goal for others is to spend more time helping my friends with whatever problems they have! I love my friends so much that I am going to try to help out instead of just hanging out on my own.

For Community: Volunteering

Helping others is extremely important to me and I always want to strive to help people less fortunate. I've decided to start volunteering at a local church that helps homeless people. With this church, I am going to help those who are struggling and help better my community!

These goals might be rough at first but I'm sure that it will make a big difference. It's always important to help those around us and I can't wait to see the difference I can make!

Until next time,
Here is one of my favorite songs that helps motivate me to work on my goals!

What goals do you have?

All About My Community!

                        Greetings from Greenville, friends!

I thought today I would share with you what it's like where I live.

I go to school at Furman University which is in Greenville, South Carolina.

It's a beautiful school and wins a lot of awards for being so pretty.

We have a big lake behind our school and a rose garden where you can sometimes pick roses!

Nothing beats watching the sun come up during my morning run!
It always smells great here! But that might just be because of the dining hall!
I'm originally from Charlotte, North Carolina which is only a two hour drive from Furman. Charlotte is a really interesting city and always has something BIG going on! Have you ever heard of Nascar racing? Charlotte is known for it's Nascar events and museum.

One of the few things the two cities have in common is the love of Barbeque. Barbeque is a type of cooking meat that is delicious and a BIG deal is both North and South Carolina.

Yum!

Both areas are known for their different styles of barbecue. Personally, I prefer Charlotte's!
BBQ can be a BIG deal.

What type of barbecue do you think you guys would like?
Until next time friends, here's one of my favorite songs written by one of my state's favorite musicians:

When I do go back to Charlotte, I get to see my two dogs! Their names are Lizzie and Daisy whom I l love very much!

Aren't they adorable?
